TDS Art

I'm a creative soul, but I'm not a graphic artist-my artistic talents lie in decorating cake and that's about it. I wish I was able to paint the beauty I see when I look up at the night sky or through a telescope. I'm a pretty decent writer, but sometimes I just don't have the words to describe the wonders I see or how full of awe and inspiration I am. Thank goodness for my technical side, which allows me to use software to edit and enhance the photos I take of the night sky. I'm not the best, but I love what I'm able to accomplish and able to share with others. The purpose of my own brand of art is to share the joy I feel when I'm outside at night with the vastness of space and all its treasures above me. I share my photos on Instagram in hopes that they'll inspire others to want to enjoy space and the night skies.

I'm also very thankful for my child and graphic artist Louis. They're extremely talented and has been kind enough to share their talents with me. They've provided their own perspective of the night sky through a series of art exclusively for the constellation videos on the Texas Dark Skies YouTube channel, as well as a few exclusive pieces. Seeing someone else's persective of the night sky is like discovering it all over again, seeing things I hadn't seen before or seeing it from a different angle. Louis' artwork inspires me to step outside and try to see the night sky the way they see it.
